September 2009 News!
Fall classes are starting up again for those who did not train all
summer. Congratulations to all those dedicated students who were
able to train this summer.

Prairie Wildfire Challenge.
November 14 is the black belt test in Winnipeg.mer.
The Spring Black Belt and Coloured belt test
in Carman Collegiate went very well. 24 people suceeded at difficult
tests of their Taekwondo skills. 18 were promoted to 1st Dan, 3
to 2nd Dan, and 1 to 3rd Dan. Congratulations all.
Also testing on that Saturday were 62
coloured belts. They all showed great spirit and perserverance.

The Annual InterAcademy Tournament happened
on Saturday April 18, 2009.
There were about 150 competitors who showed great spirit in all
the competitions.

With over 150 competitors and some very special coaches, the Premier
Taekwondo clubs were proud of how everyone performed.
The special coaches were some national and international competitors who gave a training and sparring
demostration to pump up all the Premier competitors for the afternoon sparring.

Kelsey
Wiebe has won silver in Montreal! On March 8-9, 2008,
the Canadian Senior Nationals were held at the Centre Claude
Robillard in Montreal. Daniel Coulture also competed in his
first nationals competition and had a close rewarding match.
Premier Taekwondo clubs send 39 competitors to Prairie Wildfire 2007
Premier Congratulates all the Premier members who
attended the Priarie Wildfire Tournament in Yorkton on November
3, 2007.
Thanks to the Premier Black belts that helped referee at the tournament.
Premier likes to help out other clubs. The tournament was well
run and the double elimination / round robin format gave coloured
belts more matches and more chances to learn.
A huge thanks to a Kee's Taekwondo.
Demi Bouvier from
Lorette Club brought home a Bronze from the Junior Nationals.

2007 Premier Taekwondo Championships
The Annual Premier Championships were held on April 21, 2007. Over
170 students joined together in great spirit to learn and compete
together. Participants ranged in age from 5 to 80. Thanks to everyone
including all the wonderful families that showed up for the day.

Kelsey Wiebe won Bronze at the 2007 Canadian Nationals in Montreal,
March 3 & 4.

Kelsey Wiebe won Gold! Brennan Ryan won Bronze!
Ms. Wiebe from Lorrete Club has won a gold medal at the Commonwealth
Taekwondo Championships in Brisbane, Australia, 2006. Mr. Ryan is
her coach and fellow winning team member.

Taekwondo is an ancient martial art with its roots tracing back to Korea some 2000 years ago. Since its inception, Taekwondo has evolved into one of the most popular modern martial arts in the world. "Taekwondo" literally translates to "the way of the hand and foot."
A Taekwondo training program encompasses both physical and mental disciplines, balancing the body, mind and spirit. Taekwondo is an excellent source of fitness, improving strength, endurance, flexibility and overall physical health. It promotes self-discipline, self-confidence, stress relief and goal setting. It is an ideal activity for people of all ages and abilities.
Premier Taekwondo was founded in 2004, and its instructors have a cumulative experience of some 200 years in Taekwondo training. All instructors are World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) certified black belts, most of whom are WTF certified Master Instructors. Instructors at Premier Taekwondo are well recognized by the Taekwondo community in Manitoba and Canada.
Premier Taekwondo’s primary goal is to provide the highest quality instruction for its students. Premier instructors are dedicated to developing the martial art and sport of Taekwondo in Manitoba to the highest of standards.
Premier Taekwondo has ten branches throughout
the Winnipeg and central
regions of Manitoba. The Winnipeg Region branches are Glenlee
(St. Vital), Greendell
(South St. Vital), Victoria
Community Club, Transcona
and Lorette under
the guidance of Chief Instructor Master Raul Reis, 5th Dan, WTF
certified. Central Region branches include Carman,
Manitou, Morden,
Miami and Treherne
under the guidance of Chief Instructor Master Terrianne Seward,
6th Dan, WTF certified.
